The Four County Area Vocational Cooperative Marine Mechanics Program is the recipient of a BP Fueling Communities grant sponsored by Brown and Sons Fuel of Kendallville.

BP Fueling Communities provides grant donations to local organizations that are nominated by local BP business owners. Fueling Communities gives to local organizations that support health, education, youth, food and housing in order to spread charity and goodwill.

Brown and Sons Fuel nominated Four County Area Vocational Cooperative for the Fueling Communities grant based on the educational support the cooperative provides in its four-county region.

"Jay Brown and Brown and Sons Fuel have been outstanding partners and have supported Four County Vocational in many ways. This is just another example of their generosity and commitment to organizations in their community," said Tim Holcomb, director of Four County Area Vocational Cooperative.

Ryan Ramsay, the cooperative's marine mechanics instructor, said, "The Marine Mechanics program greatly appreciates the grant from Brown and Sons Fuel Co. The grant money will be used to enhance our program by adding tools, service manuals, lab equipment, shop supplies and test engines. This will allow the program to further prepare students for the workforce in the marine industry."
