EN honors highest ranking seniors
5/5/2009
East Noble School Corp. honored the top 13 graduating students in the class of 2009 at Monday night's third annual Roots and Wings dinner at the Four County Area Vocational Cooperative Dowling Street campus.

Each of the seniors invited the teacher who had the greatest influence on their K-12 educational experience as well as their parents.

The students with the Top Ten Grade Point Averages (GPA) are usually recognized but there were GPA ties this year, extending the list to the top 13.

"As educators and parents, conventional wisdom tells us that the true lasting legacies we can give our children are roots and wings," East Noble superintendent Dr. H. Steve Sprunger told the students, their teachers, parents, school board members and high school staff. "The roots provide the anchorage, the wings provide the opportunity to not only dream big, but accomplish lofty feats."

He thanked the parents and educators and described their involvement in the students academic achievements as the "roots." Sprunger told the students they will now take flight with "wings of confidence" and the ability to accomplish greatness.

He reminded everyone that the evening's event is a reminder of the tremendous level of learning that does take place throughout East Noble.
